The extended trailer at The Game Awards showed additional contextual scenes for the standoff in the woods. Before the battle with Jin, the Mongol clan were disposing of dead bodies, presumably those of corpses belonging to the local village. They then proceeded to pack up the cart full of supplies, also potentially implying that the clan raided the village. As the showdown happens, the trailer cuts away right after Jin pulls out his smoke bomb. The trailer flashes back to another scene where a brutally injured Jin is seen limping across a battlefield filled with arrow ridden corpses as narration talks talks about the elusive Ghost of Tsushima . This is not to mention the arrow already sticking out of his b

The final cherry on top of my pre-release anticipation for Ghost of Tsushima has also just been due to how serious Sucker Punch is taking the source material here. Developers at the studio have talked openly about how much research has gone into this project which has included multiple trips to Japan and working with actual swordmasters . Not to mention, the full game is going to feature optional Japanese voice acting with English subtitles to really entrench yourself in the experience even further. Aspects like this won't make or break Ghost of Tsushima , but it shows just that Sucker Punch is committed to making this not just an enjoyable game, but one that is highly-authentic as w

The next shots show the ghost, Jin, approaching a camp full of Mongol soldiers with stealthy tactics. The game is going to allow the player to survey areas before striking enemies, as Jin is seen on top of structures. As was already shown off during the E3 2018 demo, Jin is capable of _ Assassin’s Creed _ -like assassinations, as he jumps off of rooftops and slams his sword into his oppone

No release window was given, which was expected considering the studio had just become comfortable enough to release a reveal trailer at the time. Sucker Punch would then show off the game again at E3 2018 where, again, no release window was given. Though fans were hoping for information on a release date at that time, it was generally expected that Sucker Punch was probably not going to give any updates considering its reluctance to discuss its release to begin w

That said, this seems to be Sony's MO over the course of the PS4 generation when it comes to showing off new games. Despite revealing many of their projects years in advance this gen, Sony has also kept most of these games well under wraps, only releasing a new trailer or screenshots here and there before then showing quite a bit more gameplay very close to launch. [https://tsushimagame.com/ Ghost Of Tsushima Strategy|Https://tsushimagame.com/] of Tsushima has actually had a very similar pre-release timeline to God of War , at least when comparing the two so far. Speaking for myself, I think that this manner of being relatively silent about games that are in development for long stretches of time actually generates more excitement in the long

**Ghost of Tsushima ** was finally given another trailer, this time during The Game Awards 2019 in December. The trailer shown off there is the extended version of the trailer initially shown off at PlayStation’s State of Play just two days before. That trailer teased a standoff between protagonist and samurai warrior, Jin Sakai, and a group of Mongol soldiers hauling a cart of goods in the woods. As the Mongol clan of soldiers gave out a warning and then charged, Jin brandished his samurai sword and pulled out what appeared to be a smoke bomb. This is where the State of Play trailer ends and The Game Awards trailer continues for _ Ghost of Tsushima

Sucker Punch is one of the most admired developers in the gaming industry, and perhaps best known for creating the Sly Cooper and Infamous series of games. In 2011, Sony purchased Sucker Punch to produce games exclusively for PlayStation. Sucker Punch has always worked within short development windows, with the longest period in between releasing games being four years. The length between the release of the Studio's last game Infamous First Light and the scheduled release of Ghost of Tsushima will be six years, prompting some to wonder if the game would be better off debuting on the PlayStation

Longer development cycles are the reality of the modern gaming industry. Unless certain solutions can be implemented efficiently in the next generation of gaming hardware, like streaming and SSD storage (which the PS5 and next Xbox are in fact using), then higher capacity tech will only bring longer development cycles. This was the case with PS4 proje

All in all, we have seen very little about Ghost of Tsushima , which is why I think I have such a close eye on it this year. Compared to other major releases that are coming up in 2020 ( Cyberpunk 2077 , Final Fantasy VII Remake , DOOM Eternal ) I feel like there are many relatively unknown factors with Ghost of Tsushima . Heck, news on the game went so quiet in 2019 that many started questioning whether or not it would end up just altogether becoming a PS5 game . That obviously won't be the case, but it speaks to how silent Sony has been with this ti
