The gods and their relationships with their followers are among the most fascinating aspects of Avowed ’s setting. The Pillars of Eternity games state that "Engwith built gods from ideals, and an ideal on its own is a grotesque and vicious thing." The gods and their strange machinations will very likely make an appearance in Avowed Cheats , and could make the game one of the most interesting fantasy RPGs released on the next generation of conso

Skyrim has well-developed cities. Markarth, Solitude, and Riften , in particular, all have distinct aesthetics and cultures, and feel large enough to be lived in by a reasonable amount of people if the player suspends their disbelief. It’s too immersion breaking, however, for the player to enter Whiterun and get asked if they go to the Cloud District very often when the entire city houses just 73 NPCs in total (making it the most populated in the game) and the Cloud District is not only just a few yards away but only has one building, the Jarl’s pal

The Vithrack are rare spider-like humanoids that weave hives from silk. They are one of the most intelligent races in the world of Eora, and can communicate psychically with one another. They were once sought by Animancers , who use machines to try and learn about and transfer souls. These Animancers found that the Vithrack were able to connect directly to the souls of other races, but not without harrowing and dangerous consequen

Abydon is the god of the forge . Like the other gods, he eventually helped destroy the Engwithans who had created him. When another god, Ondra, brought one of Eora's moons down towards the earth, however, Abdyon threw his hammer at it. A large fragment remained, so he threw himself in the way. It hit Abydon in the face, killing him. Abydon would later return to his labor in a mechanical body, but had lost his memories and his will to preserve. His Eyeless constructs each hold a piece of his soul, but are prevented by Ondra from restoring him and his mem

The world of Eora contains many different races, including relatively standard fantasy Elves and Dwarves. However, the divinely mutated Godlike are among the strangest races in Avowed , if they can be called a single race at all, and are sure to provide some great roleplaying opportunities in the upcoming

The Godlike vary greatly in appearance. Not only can any of Pillars of Eternity 's Kith races be born a Godlike, but their appearance will differ greatly depending on which god chose them. Here are the main types of Godlike and the way their blessings manif

Nature Godlike : Blessed by Galawain, these Godlike have animal or plant-like features, such as developing deer-like horns and ears. As with the Moon Godlike, these are often some of the least feared of all the Godl

Make no mistake though, the dragons found in Eora are some of the toughest fights in Pillars if players choose to go that way. Often, combat is the only option, given that the high intelligence and suspicious nature of dragons makes them hard to persuade out of killing such nuisances as adventurers. Dragon fights will likely be very unique from each other, as dragons in Eora change their physiques to match their surrounding environment. Pillars of Eternity saw poisonous swamp dragons, a frigid alpine dragon, a feathered sky dragon, and even a massive, flightless Adra dragon encrusted in Eora's living soul-sto

The future of RPGs on the Xbox Series X seems to be defined by a handful of games. Fable from Playground Games may prove to be a return to the franchise's origins, hearkening back to its glory days, while Avowed seems to symbolize the future. Avowed may even be the Xbox Series X's biggest console seller at the moment, as many are looking to fill a void left behind without a new Elder Scrolls en

One of Skyrim ’s issues is its towns and cities, many of which feel underpopulated, underdeveloped, and ultimately far too small to be believed as anything other than hamlets. If Avowed is going to take the first-person fantasy RPG genre into the next-gen, its cities will need to feel sprawling and alive, not just scaled-down representations of far larger cities that exist in the game's ca

Even areas in Skyrim which have great personalities, like Riften, feel less immersive the more time the player spends in them as the feeling of size upon entering the city gives way to something quite small. Falkreath, Morthal, and Dawnstar all feel quite underdeveloped and interchangeable, with as few as 20 inhabita

If Avowed is going to feel like the next step in first-person RPGs rather than retreading the familiar ground developed by both Obsidian and Bethesda over the years, it is going to need cities that feel like cities – that players are able to view as some of the greatest accomplishments of the civilization they are exploring. The Witcher 3 achieved this by prioritizing Novigrad as the largest city in the region, though smaller cities like Oxenfurt still dwarf most cities in The Elder Scrol
