DualShockers’ Favorite Games Of 2019 — Tomas Top 10
On top of all of that, the story mode provides a meaty and varied single-player 2D Mario experience, which is something that the series has needed for years. It is my favorite platformer of 2019, and the first of many indicators on this list that 2019 has been an amazing year for Nintendo Switch. Also, Super Mario Maker 2's multiplayer is terrible, but I love
4. Final Fantasy XIII
The Final Fantasy series has been through a lot of changes over the years. Starting as the originator in high fantasy and RPGs on this side of the planet, it evolved into a tech-punk sort of story featuring characters with ridiculous hair and equally ridiculous weapons, and has got to the point where no one knows what to expect next. XIII was the first to appear on the current console generation so naturally, fans were hyped, particularly PS3 fans who needed exclusives. But then, the news broke that XIII would be appearing on the Xbox 360 as well. This sounded almost like a death knell for the PS3, and many were saying that if Metal Gear Solid 4 jumped ship as well, the system was finished. Meanwhile, after delay after delay, Final Fantasy XIII was released four years after its announcement at E3 2
This is more of a conjectural statement based on current market trends and the history of the franchise than anything I've specifically read, but it's safe to say that a new, full-blown Fable game will have an enormous scope. Even the original Fable , released way back in 2004, had an enormous gameworld by the standards of the time, rivaling even the Elder Scrolls games, maybe not in landmass, but in how much stuff there was to
Chances are you've heard this scenario before: a new game is announced at a big event like E3 or PAX. You're told what the game will contain and you're instantly excited. Time passes and more information is released, increasing your excitement, and fan theories stir the interest even more. Finally, perhaps after a delay or two, the game is released, but it ultimately fails to live up to your expectati
I don't really have any problems with Astral Chain and it's super innovative, which is why I gave it a 10 earlier this year. Astral Chain features the tight and rewarding action PlatinumGames is known for but is quite accessible at the same time. Its detective case-solving portions feel like better versions of similar segments in the Batman: Arkham games. Astral Chain is one of the best-looking games on Nintendo Switch. And finally, the Legion is the most innovative thing to happen to action games since Bayonetta's Witch Time. Creating a unique weapon-user relationship I've never seen in a game before, Astral Chain remains fun and manageable while still tasking players with controlling two things at o
For those that didn't see the ARK 2 trailer at The Game Awards, it is looking to be a more story oriented game. Vin Diesel leads his tribe through a pre-historic jungle before they are attacked by what seems to be a rival tribe. While fighting them off, and unexpected guest shows up and makes things more complicated. In the ensuing chase scene, Vin Diesel and a young child run past several other types of dinosaurs, all of which can be assumed to be in the final game. Naturally, anything could change between now and teh game's release so technically nothing is confirmed, but it's a safe bet that these dinos will make the
I'd rather play a 30-hour RPG 4 times than a 120 hour RPG one time. The Outer Worlds seems to understand that mentality and delivered an experience that can be quite diverse depending on one's character build and choices. It was just barely edged out of being my game of the year and is certainly a must-play for those who have ever remotely enjoyed an RPG at some point in their lives. On that positive note, Parvati is my daughter and if any of you hurt her, you'll be hearing from my lawy
As Mega Man has come to represent an entire genre of video game, it stands to reason that the developers at Capcom would recognize that the title character's dog would need to be similarly groundbreak
Tetris was already great on its own-- just look at last year's Tetris Effect --and splicing battle royale mechanics in there only embellished the whole multiplayer experience. As the Adventure Game Endings Guide|Https://Adventurequestlog.Com/ has received some single-player and local multiplayer modes since launch, Arika and Nintendo's game has cemented itself as one of the best Tetris titles of all time. It's becoming a mobile game too . That's always a good sign, ri
Looking further back, players will also notice a variety of long-necked dinosaurs, likely Brontosaurus. These towering herbivores are present early on in playthroughs of ARK , but thanks to their docile nature they don't typically pose a threat. Next to the T-Rex, this is likely one of the most recognizable dinosaurs to the average person, so it makes sense that it would be included in the trailer. From this distance it is hard to tell, but it could also be a Diplodocus, a less recognizable dinosaur but still included in the original ARK. These herbivores are incredibly playful, often pushing players around and dealing more damage than they real
